Toy of the Week - YOOO

One of our favorite toy makers is FUN FACTORY.  We sell their products with complete confidence that our customers will be satisfied.  For as much thought that goes into the design, function and packaging, these are reasonably priced toys.  They are silicone, waterproof, powerful and unbelievably entertaining to look at and to use.  And  these toys really are made in Germany!  We have anxiously waited for the boat from Germany to bring the newest and latest.  Our latest favorite is the YOOO.  Cute and powerful with all the qualities we've come to expect .

FUN FACTORY YOOO

Who would have thought that 3 little balls could be so much FUN? The new, stylish, futuristic lay-on vibrator YOOO is fantastically easy and effective.

The streamlined form of the three balls entices users to experiment. It applies a brilliant formula - three balls and 2 motors - for new heights of pleasure. And thanks to the innovative CLICK 'N' CHARGE technology, pleasure is endless.

And because we think it is important to know who is making the products you are using intimately, here is a brief history of FUN FACTORY...

FUN FACTORY had its first beginnings in 1995 and was officially founded in 1996. Company founders Dirk Bauer and Michael Pahl discovered after a chat with "For Ladies" founder Christine Meise (then Dirk Bauer's wife) that the market offered no sophisticated and high-quality erotic toys which really spoke to women.

This "ah-hah!" moment released a frenzy of creativity - the goal being to fill this gap in the market with the development and production of innovative, attractive products uniting aesthetics, quality and top-notch functionality. Products that are fun - that you can stand by - in other words that can be brought out into the open.

FUN FACTORY launched a trend, one that has characterized the company throughout its success: "one step ahead!" Take, for example, the "Delight" (new arrival in 2007) - the vibrator highlight of the year.

In the beginning, the model for the first FUN FACTORY dildo, the penguin ("Paddy Pinguin"), was made at home at the kitchen table with some children's clay. All our dildos, which were first developed as one of a kind models, have found an increasingly satisfied fan base, with demand constantly growing!

Meanwhile, the two man, one kitchen table start-up now stands as Europe's largest manufacturer of erotic toys with high standards of innovation and quality. All FUN FACTORY employees are working together to make FUN FACTORY a trendsetter in the erotic toy market well into the future!

Toy of the Week - iRide

One of our new favorite toys is the iRide... it's pink and you can ride it!  Sounds good to us. It's part vibrator and part sex furniture.  In fact, were not sure how to classify it. The iRide is a rideable, multi-speed vibrator allowing users the ability to control rhythm, speed and sensation with the motion of their own body.

The iRid is a non-phthalate, rideable vibrator featuring two independent, multi-speed vibrating zones targeted for simultaneous internal and external stimulation.  The toy can be used virtually anywhere -- on a chair, in a bed or on any flat surface -- and the naturally curved design creates a sensual, rhythmic movement while the padded cushion makes for a soft, smooth ride.

The iRide has really broken the mold.  This is a versatile, hands-free toy that delivers an entirely unique experience at relatively affordable price.  It's not cheap but you get a lot of bang for the ride.

Vanity by Jopen

Let's say this right off the bat... Vanity by Jopen is not cheap.  This is a very high-end line. Originally, we hesitated about adding it to our store because of the cost; we were not sure if it would appeal to the average consumer.   But the more we saw these products, touched them, turned them on and tested them, the more impressed we were.  They feel good, look really good and are very quiet for being so strong. We were most impressed by the vibrating duo balls.  As you  wear them, you control the vibration by squeezing.

Jopen Vanity Vibrating Duo Balls
To sum it up, this is why we are excited about Jopen.

PROS:
Interesting designs
Lots of variety so you can choose a vibe that speaks to you
Made of silicone
Quiet
Strong
Well constructed

CONS:
Only comes in purple ... so if you don't like purple ...
Price

A word about price.  We have nothing against inexpensive toys. They serve a great purpose. And quite often we recommend them.  They are great for those on a budget, and who isn't these days?  Many of of the newer, cheaper vibes are well made and get the job done.  They are great for people who want to dabble without a huge investment.  But if you have the money to indulge, you should. There is a difference.  It's not like generic vs brand name at the grocery store.  You can feel the difference.

Foods that Increase the Libido

According to many ancient cultures, including the Greeks who coined the term "Aphrodisiac" after Aphrodite the Greek goddess of sensual love, certain foods are reputed to increase libido, cure impotency and create a stronger desire for sex.

Get chopping!

But not all foods do this. Only a small handful of foods possess just the right combination of look, feel, taste and nutrients to "turn us on." Studies show that Zinc, Potassium, Vitamin C, E, and B6, are all vital nutrients for a healthy and vibrant sex life.

"Foods such as pumpkin seeds, pine nuts and oysters are all high in Zinc which are needed to produce healthy seminal fluids", claims Danny Arguetty, a health counselor and nutritionist at the Kripalu Health Center in Lenox, Mass. He also recommends adding small amounts of chili to your food, which is high in Vitamin C, stimulates circulation, and "spices up your love life.

"On the contrary, a diet high in trans-fats, refined carbohydrates and alcohol lowers men's sexual response and decreases their testosterone levels," Arguetty says. "Men, especially, need to be mindful of maintaining a healthy diet high in vegetables, fruits and whole grains if they want to keep their libido up and partners happy and satisfied."

With that said, this Valentine's Day keep your aphrodisiac food list handy, and cook your way into a passionate night of pure bliss that you and your loved one will never forget.

Here are ten of the top aphrodisiac foods guaranteed to light your partner's fire:

Raw Oysters: This is one of the most popular and well-known "sexy" foods on the aphrodisiac list. High in Zinc, which increases sperm and testosterone production, oysters also contain a hormone called dopamine, which increases libido.
Squeeze some fresh lemon juice onto them for extra zest.

Asparagus: Loaded with vitamin E, a key nutrient for a healthy sex life and treating impotence.

Eggs: Hard boil them and spread a little caviar on the top, and you have an aphrodisiac bomb that is guaranteed to make waves long after the meal is finished. Eggs are rich in B6 and B5, both crucial for libido and balanced hormone levels.

Almonds: Both the smell and nutrient make-up of almonds make these crunchy morsels a "must eat" on Valentines Day. Full of essential fatty acids, they are particularly important for male hormone production. To get her in the mood, light an almond scented candle during dinner and she will never know what seduced her.

Figs: Known as a food fit only for the gods and goddesses, figs are high in amino acids and improve sexual stamina. FlambĂ© fresh figs and serve them over vanilla ice cream with a balsamic reduction-- a sure way to sweeten anyone's mood.

Avocados: Avocado trees were referred to as "testicle trees" by the ancient Aztecs, and rightfully so. Moreover, avocados are bursting with folic acid, a type of vitamin B that helps turn protein into energy, and potassium that helps boost men and women's libidos.

Chili: Spice up your night and get a good hit of vitamin C at the same time, by incorporating some chili into your Valentine's Day dinner.

Bananas: Packed with bromelain enzymes, potassium and riboflavin, eating one banana a day is guaranteed to keep you energized.

Garlic: Perhaps known more as a "turn off" than a "turn on," garlic is actually a very effective aphrodisiac. Garlic contains a potent ingredient called Allicin that increases blood flow and libido. But don't forget to bring the breath mints or you will be sent home early.

Chocolate: Finally, what we have all been waiting for, the chocolate! This is the surest way to a women's heart. Nibbling on a piece of dark chocolate immediately produces a chemical called phenylethylamine, which is believed to produce the feeling of "being in love." So, a gift a chocolate should, in fact, sweep your beloved off his or her feet and into your arms.

For Valentine's Day, what could be more romantic than dipping bananas into a shared pot of chocolate fondue?

Using food to spark your sexual appetite is a creative and fun way to woo your loved one, stay healthy, and indulge in some of the foods that we sometimes overlook on the menu. With a little help from our aphrodisiac friends, this Valentine's Day you can have your chocolate cake and eat it too!

Average Joe... He's Not Average

Not everyone is into a porn-sized package. Some people prefer to keep things a little more realistic, and that's where Average Joe comes in.  This line features dildos that are similar to what average men are.
It's been our experience at MUF that sometimes the eyes are bigger than the stomach.  Sure, the idea of a 10 inch dong sounds appealing, but the reality of it is not for the faint of heart.  That's a bigger than you think.  Men order them for their wives and girlfriends all the time.  And yes, we get calls from those men telling us the ladies thought there we nuts for choosing something so big.  Women, too, are quilty of ordering larger than necessary. We always tell our customers take out a ruler or meauring tape and really get an idea of size. Don't order more than you can eat.

Don't get us wrong.  The desire for girth has kept us in business for a long time. Our point is bigger is not always the answer.  You might want to give the Average Joe a try.  You might really like him.

Check out Average Joe.

Joya 4U is here at Melrose Urban Female

We have just added a few new items to our store that come from a company called Joya.  We were particularly intriqued by their design and their philosophy. Like us, they are a women-owned company and   seem to share what we here at MUF feel.  For too long men have dominated the sex toy world in terms of design and packaging.  Women know what women and like and want.  Sorry men.  No fault of yours.

The adult novelties market is one of the largest markets in the world. This huge market, dominated by men, is now in transition from a ‘similar product/similar quality’ arena into a ‘unique design/high-quality’ market. Moreover, this market is gradually becoming more and more mainstream. From a dark-sleazy market carrying mostly phallic products, to an open and esthetic market, carrying non-phallic design products that can be displayed everywhere.

Today's market has so few women creating adult materials and products - too few women in creative, professional or management roles.

JOYA™ 4U Ltd. is an enterprise of two women entrepreneurs, creating high-end, unique, innovative adult novelties, with outstanding designs and meticulous branding, designed to bring you pleasure.

JOYA’s philosophy is to design adult toys having a unique blend of style, ergonomics and psychology - with a wink to fashion.
